Test Analyst Vacancy


Royal London Group is looking to recruit 2 experienced Test Analysts to manage the delivery of testing services for RLI Protection. The successful applicant will be working in project based teams along with other project disciplines in the Protection. The Test Team are responsible for System testing, UAT and performance of new functionality and Business as Usual change to the Protection business and act as a quality gate prior to their deployment to the production environment. 


Main duties will include


  • Working closely with the Test team lead to plan testing strategy, approach and effort on projects;
  • Ensuring the test strategies & approaches are as effective and efficient as possible;
  • Day to day co-ordination and execution of testing across all test phases on projects;
  • Report on progress to the Project Manager & Test Team Lead;
  • Provide guidance and coaching for the members of the test team in test design and execution techniques;
  • Facilitate the resolution of defects and test environment issues;
  • Helping evolve the development of the testing processes;
  • Reviewing business requirements and technical design documents;
  • Producing formal estimates for testing effort;
  • Developing and reviewing test cases & scenarios produced by the team;
  • Working closely with business & technical sponsors to derive test requirements and ensure the test coverage is acceptable;
  • Ensuring the team are reporting defects in a clear and concise way;
  • Working with the technical teams to help resolve issues;
  • Supporting the out of office hours IT change windows;
  • Working in conjunction with business colleagues in the co-ordination of User Acceptance Testing.
  • Working with third party vendors to establish pre-release acceptance test criteria
  • Taking part in post-project reviews and feeding back on lessons learned with regards to Testing.
  • Participation in Testing Forums and applying a level of consistency to Testing in Protection.
  • Delivering projects for the business by measuring and reporting on the quality of the software developed.

Applicants must have


  • Significant experience in Software testing using a variety of techniques & tools;
  • A sound understanding of the principles of software testing and demonstrates continued learning;
  • Extensive experience of Test Design; Execution; Defect Management;
  • Proven ability to understand the technical integrations systems;
  • Strong problem solving & communication skills;
  • A meticulous & thorough approach to work;
  • Excellent planning skills and ability to co-ordinate testing activities;
  • Ability to manage your own time and tasks;
  • Team working and leadership skills are essential;
  • A flexible and adaptable attitude;

It would also be an advantage to have


  • Experience of agile and / or exploratory testing techniques;
  • Experience of working with 3rd party suppliers of software;
  • ISEB or ITIL Foundation qualifications.
